Charlton Athletic are looking good for a play-off spot in League One but, if they hit a run of form, there might be a late surge towards the top two on the cards.

Putting aside the problems off the field, this season has been pleasantly surprising for fans of the Addicks. They've risen to the top six and stayed there, all under the watchful eye of one-time YTS player Lee Bowyer.

Bowyer has proven himself to be an exciting and driven manager, putting the turmoil around the ownership to one side and pressing on with focus and steel.

Even losing Karlan Grant hasn't affected them too much and though eight points separate them and Barnsley in second, the gap between them and the seventh placed side is seven.

It's Doncaster Rovers providing the opposition tomorrow, the other side marooned in the top six with a comfortable cushion but a lot to make up on the top two. It'll be a real test of Bowyer's credential but, if they go with the side we've selected, we can see them coming out on top.

[snack_break title="Dillon Phillips"]

Phillips has stepped up after the departure of Jed Steer, making 15 appearances in League One.

They've lost one in nine and that's enough for him to keep his place.

[snack_break title="Chris Solly"]

28-year-old Solly is a one-club man, having come through the ranks at Charlton.

He's on for a testimonial next season, but will be focused on sending them back to the Championship first.

[snack_break title="Ben Purrington"]

Purrington has added real width to the defence since joining on loan from Rotherham.

He's been clam and assured and Bowyer needs that in his side.

[snack_break title="Naby Sarr"]

He grabbed a goal last weekend against Wimbledon and is a welcome presence in both boxes.

There's little chance of him being dropped, his partnership with Bauer is one of the bedrocks of the Addicks success.

[snack_break title="Patrick Bauer"]

Bauer has been superb for Bowyer this season and is surely destined to play at a higher level, whether it's with the Addicks or not.

For now, he stays put and looks to help them out of League One.

[snack_break title="Mark Marshall"]

The tricky wide man can play on the flank in midfield or wide in a 4-3-3, which is where he started against Wimbledon.

He's only started six matches so for, but since Krystian Bielik got injured he's seized his chance.

[snack_break title="Joe Aribo"]

Aribo is recently back from injury and looking to pick up where he left off in the first half of the season.

He's a real talent and will look to dictate play through the middle of the park.

[snack_break title="Josh Cullen"]

The West Ham player is another on the comeback trail, just at the right time for Bowyer.

He's full of ability and could well be a big influence in the coming weeks.

[snack_break title="Jonny Williams"]

Williams has started seven matches this season, and he's one who has stepped up since the departure of Karlan Grant.

They were playing a 4-4-2 before Grant left, but that's switched to a 4-3-3, affording Williams game time.

[snack_break title="Lyle Taylor"]

Still very much the main man at the Valley, Taylor is a favourite of Lee Bowyer.

He scores goals and is a constant threat with or without the ball. He's their main man and they'll be hoping for him to come out on top in the battle with John Marquis tomorrow.

[snack_break title="George Lapslie"]

Lapslie has been in and out of the side too, but is another who has come through recently and is likely to start.

The 21-year-old is another youth team product and is also rated very highly by the management team.
