As per the Express and Star, West Brom will only entertain the idea of Jay Rodriguez being sold this summer if a bid over £20m comes in for the striker.

The men from the Hawthorns are back in the Championship for the first time in nearly a decade for next season and will be looking to return to the Premier League straight away.

However, they may struggle to keep hold of all their players this summer with striker Rodriguez evidently one that they are worried about.

It looks as though the Baggies are in a strong position to try and keep him, though, with him having a few years left on his contract for starters.

That would suggest, of course, that the Black Country side do not need to sell him in this window and so a big bid would have to be lodged for potential suitors to even have a chance of getting him.

The Verdict

It would seem here that the player might have to try and ask for a move away as the Baggies do not need to sell him on the cheap.

Would a club bid such a figure for a player who has had injury issues? That is debatable to say the least and so this could be a story that rumbles on.
