Real Madrid are reportedly monitoring former Nottingham Forest striker Rafa Mir, which has appears to have left many Reds fans shocked.
The 23-year-old spent the first half of last season on loan at Forest from Wolves but struggled to make much of an impact, failing to score once in his 13 appearances before he was recalled in January.
According to Spanish outlet AS (via SportWitness), Real Madrid have shown an interest in the towering striker in the past and are now monitoring him after he has impressed on loan at Huesca over the last 10 months.
Mir joined the Spanish side on loan in January and scored nine goals in 18 appearances as he helped them secure promotion to La Liga.
The striker rejoined Huesca on a season-long loan this summer, scoring once and adding an assist in his first eight games.
The report claims that Madrid failed on four occasions to sign Mir from Valencia before he was sold to Wolves but that he is back on their agenda.
It is understood Mir would be open to a future move to the Bernabeu.
Are these 12 facts about the Reds’ history genuine or not?
Given his struggles at the City Ground, it’s perhaps no surprise that this report appears to have shocked many Forest fans.
