After four gruelling years in League Two, Portsmouth are a club on the way back to where they feel that they should be.

Undoubtedly the biggest club in the fourth tier, Pompey secured their place in next year's League One campaign after a convincing 3-1 win over Notts County last weekend, and it's no more than their fans deserve.

It hasn't been the easiest four years for Pompey fans to say the least, financial turmoil and other off-field matters have had a turbulent effect on the South Coast club.

But now, Paul Cook and his team can start preparing for life in League One, where they'll be looking for more success next season, and it's not like they don't have the potential to do so either.

This summer, as for any team, is vitally important for the Blues' campaign next year, however before looking to splash the cash, Cook should definitely look at players closer to home.

With that being said, here FLW writer George Harbey identities TWO starlets that Paul Cook should look to include in his starting line-up next year...

Jamal Lowe

Since his arrival from non-league outfit Hampton and Richmond, Lowe has hit the ground running at Fratton Park.

The powerful forward has netted 3 times in 5 starting appearances for Paul Cook's men, with 2 of them goals coming off the bench to clinch Pompey's promotion against Notts County in a 3-1 win.

But aside from this, the 22-year old has made 8 appearances off the bench, and arguably deserves a consistent run in the starting 11, and after proving that he can find the net in the Football League, next year will be a real test for his career.

Milan Lalkovic

Lalkovic was perhaps one of the biggest coups of the summer, when he arrived at Fratton Park from Walsall in the summer.

The 24-year old scored 7 times in 40 games for the Saddlers in their fantastic 2015/16 campaign, as well as assisting 10 times.

But the tricky winger has made just 10 appearances for Pompey this term, and has found himself out on loan at Scottish outfit Ross County, much to the disarray of Blues fans.

Lalkovic has proved he can work his magic in League One, and definitely deserves his chance in the starting 11 next year.
