As the 2016/17 campaign draws ever closer to an end, Nottingham Forest's 3-2 victory over Reading on Saturday afternoon may have just saved their season.

On the verge of the relegation spots, Forest picked up an invaluable three points in the crucial home win, and one more win should be enough for the Reds to avoid the dreaded drop to League One.

Manager Mark Warburton has reignited the Forest squad after being brought into the club in March, and the former Rangers and Brentford manager is one with an impressive record in the Championship, and could take Forest to the top next year, albeit if they survive the drop this season.

The summer transfer window will be heavily important in Forest's 2017/18 campaign, however there are some players closer to home that Warburton needs to look at before splashing the cash.

With that being said, here FLW writer George Harbey takes a look at TWO starlets Forest must look to include in their 2017/18 starting XI....

Jorge Grant

Grant is highly regarded by the City Ground faithful, however it's his performances across the other side of the River Trent that are making him hot property.

Currently on loan at League Two outfit Notts County, the talented attacking midfielder has performed magnificently well for Kevin Nolan's Magpies this term, netting 5 goals in 13 appearances as well as assisting 4 times.

The 22-year old has already attracted the likes of Notts, Wigan Athletic, Fleetwood Town and Northampton Town, and with his contract at Forest coming to an end at the end of the current campaign, Warburton should look to tie him down to a new contract and start to include the talented youngster.

Tyler Walker

Another Forest player impressive elsewhere on loan is none other than Tyler Walker.

The forward has endured a couple of successful loan spells at Stevenage and Port Vale this term, netting a total of 5 goals in 14 appearances for both clubs.

Forwards have been a somewhat failure for the Reds this term, the likes of Nicklas Bendtner and loanee Ross McCormack have all failed to hit the ground running at the City Ground, but Walker's hard work elsewhere definitely deserves a chance in the first team next season.

So... What do you think Forest fans? What are your hopes for the 2017/18 campaign? Should these two starlets be included in Warburton's starting lineup? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!
