Another sub-par season for Charlton Athletic has seen the former Premier League side languish in the lower reaches of Sky Bet League One for the majority of the season.

The Addicks have even looked like relegation candidates at time, which is a far cry from their days competing in the upper half of the top flight.

With impressive young manager, Karl Robinson, at the helm, the side from South London will hope to put this dismal season behind them, and push for the top six next season.

One saving grace of this campaign has been the performances of Charlton’s young stars, and the one that towers above the rest is Ademola Lookman.

The 19-year-old’s performances in the first half of the season, and this was enough to convince Everton to swoop in a January deal worth up to £11 million.

Lookman has been a shining example of what can be achieved, and Charlton’s other young guns have followed suit.

Here are TWO who will be looking to cement a spot in Robinson’s starting eleven next season....

Lewis Page

Full-back Page joined Charlton from West Ham United in January on a deal until 2019, and the player has gone on to make a dozen appearances for his new side.

The 20- year-old spent 8 years on the books of the Hammers, and Charlton have acquired a player with an extremely good footballing education.

Page has first team experience from loans with Cambridge United and Coventry City, and his time spent in the lower leagues will aid in his development at Charlton.

Page has already added a new sense of vigour to the Charlton defence, and the player will look to kick on over the summer months to ensure he secures himself a starting berth by the time the new season rolls around in August.

Ezri Konsa Ngoyo

Young Konsa has been a revelation for the Addicks this season, and made his debut for the club in a League Cup tie with Cheltenham earlier in the season.

The defender, who has been at Charlton since the age of 12, took the opportunity afforded to him, and has gone on to appear no less than 32 times for his boyhood club this season.

Recently called up to the England U-20 side, Konsa is a future star, and the youngster has already been linked with a move to England’s premier clubs.

Not many would have heard of Konsa outside of Charlton Athletic and League One, but the English defender could soon be a name thrust into the spotlight.

Another season at least with Charlton would aid the player's development, and Robinson should look to build his team in front of this 19-year-old star.
