20-y/o starts: The predicted AFC Wimbledon XI to face Crewe on Tuesday evening

AFC Wimbledon will be looking to get back to winning ways on Tuesday evening as they welcome Crewe Alexandra to the Cherry Red Records Stadium.

The Dons head into the midweek clash off the back of a frustrating late defeat away at Portsmouth, as the South Coast side came from behind against the men from SW19 to take all three points at Fratton Park.

Despite the result, head coach Mark Robinson will have been pleased with a lot of the performance that his players put in, as they once again showed that they can bring energy and high work rate to the field of play this term.

A victory for the Dons against a Crewe side who sit bottom of Sky Bet League One could see them move up to 18th in the standings if other results go their way across the division.

Nik Tzanev will once again be between the sticks for the Dons as he aims to keep a clean sheet at home in the league for the first time this season.

In defence there should be one change made by Robinson, with Henry Lawrence potentially coming in at right back for Paul Osew after missing the loss to Portsmouth with tonsillitis.

In midfield captain Alex Woodyard will once again be partnered by Anthony Hartigan, with the duo having performed well as a double pivot for much of the campaign so far.

The attacking trio of Jack Rudoni, Luke McCormick and Ayoub Assal will sit in behind the lone striker, with the three players tending to rotate positions throughout the contest as they are given a licence to roam in order to cause problems for the opposing backline.

Meanwhile Ollie Palmer will once again lead the line for the Dons as he seeks to add to the three goals that he has notched up this season.
