Huddersfield Town have enjoyed a steady start to life under Carlos Corberan in the Sky Bet Championship.

Corberan is learning on the job at the John Smith’s Stadium, tasked with getting Huddersfield moving in the right direction and, in a way, following the Leeds United blueprint that the Spaniard was a part of at Elland Road.

Town’s boss had a role under the coaching umbrella of Marcelo Bielsa across West Yorkshire, overseeing the club’s under-23s, but also forming part of the senior set-up.

Quiz: Did these 17 Huddersfield Town players ever actually score a league goal for the club?

There, he provided a familiar face for any under-23 players when they stepped up into the first-team.

That tendency to work with younger players will, undoubtedly, filter into his work at the John Smith’s Stadium, which leads us into this particular piece.

We identify TWO players kicking around Huddersfield that fans need to be aware of…

Romoney Crichlow

Naby Sarr has been something of a revelation at Huddersfield since signing, offering a balance to either the back-four or three-man defence that Corberan opts for.

Christopher Schindler and Richard Stearman have either joined him or partnered him, covering the centre or right channel.

To many, there’s no direct senior replacement to Sarr in the Huddersfield squad.

Instead, there’s a talented 21-year-old in Crichlow that offers the perfect back-up.

Crichlow is comfortable in the same left channel that Sarr plays and has already got the backing of many supporters, who want to see Corberan blood him in the Championship more often.

He’s already completed an impressive 90 minutes against Nottingham Forest, but more minutes feel unlikely given how Sarr has settled.

Nevertheless, he’s still a young defender with a lot going for him.

Matt Daly

Like Crichlow, Daly has already had a taste of Championship football.

In eight substitute appearances, the 19-year-old has scored once and has slowly started to familiarise himself to the first-team picture.

Daly is an England youth international and an attacking midfielder with real promise.

It’s a position in Corberan’s side that isn’t quite nailed down at the moment and you’d be foolish to bet against Daly getting more of a chance given a congested fixture list.

Corberan rates him highly and more opportunities are surely on the horizon.
