After reaching the play-offs last term, the 2020/21 campaign has not started the way that Cardiff City would have been hoping.

They're 16th as we head into the November international break, having seemingly fallen foul of the famed hangover that can come with falling narrowly short of promotion.

Neil Harris will be hoping to turn his side's fortunes around after the break and eyeing helping the Bluebirds back to the top flight.

Another area Harris will likely be hoping to get some joy is by turning to some of Cardiff's young prospects and with that in mind, we've highlighted two youngsters emerging at the club that fans simply have to be aware of...

Ntazana Mayembe

The 17-year-old is one of the most exciting prospects in the academy at the moment. A dynamic player with pace to burn and lightning-quick feet, he's certainly someone that is likely to get fans on their feet in years to come.

Having already impressed at both U18 and U23 level, it appears the attacker has turned heads beyond just the Welsh capital, with Manchester United understood to have been watching him.

Mayembe was named in the senior squad for a Championship and an FA Cup tie last term, which, though he did not feature, indicates just how highly rated he is at the club.

The teenager is certainly someone that Bluebirds fans will want to keep a keen eye on moving forward.

Did these 17 Cardiff City players ever actually score a league goal for the club?

Tavio d'Almeida

The midfielder is one of a number of players from Steve Morison's U23s that has been regularly involved in first-team training this term but is yet to get his chance to impress.

Having joined after leaving Auxerre last summer, the 19-year-old has impressed in little over a year with the Bluebirds as his place on the bench in the Carabao Cup and the fact he often wears the captain's armband for the U23s shows.

D'Almeida is comfortable either on the right or in the centre of midfield and is forward-thinking, which is always likely to endear him to Bluebirds fans.
