It has been a somewhat of a mixed bag for Bristol City this summer regarding their transfer window.

Having seen three key players sold, with one being on the eve of the deadline, and two others throughout the summer, the club saw ten players leave in total with six incomings to rebuild.

Bobby Reid, Aiden Flint and Joe Bryan all left Ashton Gate with the likes of Mohamed Eisa and Andreas Weimann both coming in to supply the goals that Lee Johnson will feel his side ran out of towards the end of the season.

During a pretty active summer, the club have sold many a star but have recruited will too to continue to progress and push on after a brief play-off chase in last season’s Championship.

With that in mind, here are two winners and two losers of Bristol City’s transfer window.

Regarded as one of the best left-backs in the Championship, Bryan completed a last-minute transfer to Premier League Fulham despite having a had a medical at Aston Villa earlier in the day.

If the defender had moved to Villa Park, it would have been a sideways step to a club in the same division, but having made a move to London, the 24-year-old will be battling it out with the elite in the top-flight of English Football.

If that does not make him a winner of Bristol City’s summer transfer window then nothing does.

With a void after Bryan’s sale, the arrival of the young Chelsea left-back on loan will allow the 20-year-old an opportunity to operate at a higher level than he was last season.

DaSilva spent last season on loan at Charlton and was a part of the club’s run to the League One play-offs.

Despite failing, many of the Addicks fans wanted the young left-back to return to The Valley.

But to no avail, the Chelsea defender has pitched up at Ashton Gate this season and has the chance to now impress in the second tier of English football.

To some degree, the Robins’ supporters are one of the losers of their transfer window seeing one of their best players leave in a last-minute deal.

But now with a team arguably not as strong as last season, will they be able to emulate their success and go one further to make the Championship play-offs?

Lee Johnson lost Bryan as well as top-goalscorer Bobby Reid and Aiden Flint this summer.

The club have lost three highly influential players and that could worry City fans that if they produce anyone else like the three mentioned beforehand, that they could sell them off as soon as they hit peak form.

The League Two side are definetley losers of Bristol City’s transfer window.

Mohamed Eisa moved from Whaddon Road to Ashton Gate after one season at Gary Johnson’s side.

Gary’s son, Lee, manager of the Championship side, snapped up the striker who had a ratio of one goal every two games while in the fourth tier last term.

After one successful season, Bristol City swooped to land the services of the former Greenwich Borough striker.

His transfer will leave a void up top for the League Two outfit who have fallen victim to the success of the second-tier side’s transfer activity.
