Derby County today sent winger come striker Andreas Weimann out on loan to fellow Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers until the end of the season.

This news came as a shock to some Derby fans, who were expecting the Austrian to play some role in their promotion push.

However, fans will have confidence that Steve McClaren knows what he's doing and perhaps he has allowed Weimann to leave on loan because he has a replacement winger lined up to come in and boost the Derby squad.

With less than two weeks remaining in the transfer window, Derby County need to start finalising some deals sooner rather than later.

Another winger could arrive to compete with Tom Ince and Johnny Russell.

Here are 2 wingers that Steve McClaren needs to consider bringing to Derby County now that experienced former Aston Villa wide man Andreas Weimann has temporarily left the club.

Ben Marshall

Ben Marshall's contract with Blackburn Rovers runs out at the end of the season so he might be available for a cut-price fee this January.

The versatile Blackburn star can play as a winger, central midfielder, attacking midfielder or as a full back.

This makes him a perfect addition for McClaren as he can fill in for the injured Christie and then move to the wing when the first choice right back returns.

Sheyi Ojo

Young Liverpool sensation Sheyi Ojo is making strides at Anfield but he has a lot of talented players to compete with for a starting spot at Merseyside.

He is unlikely to dislodge Sadio Mane, Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino, Divock Origi, Georginio Wijnaldum, Adam Lallana and more for the time being so a loan move could be beneficial to the England youth international.

After successful spells with Wigan and Wolves, Derby know that he is a star performer in the second tier so could take the teenager on a half-season loan to boost their play-off hopes.
