Wigan Athletic are showing positive signs in their survival bid in the Championship after a recent upturn in results under the management of Paul Cook.
The Latics had previously been struggling to stay afloat in the second-tier, but have shown improvement which will be pleasing to see for the club's supporters.
Cook's side beat play-off chasing Millwall 1-0 in their last match, and will be hoping they can build on that performance when they travel to the Madejski Stadium to take on Reading in their next game on Wednesday evening.
Wigan are currently sat 22nd in the Championship, but are just two points adrift of safety, which they'll certainly feel as though is achievable with 12 games remaining of this year's league campaign.
There have been some members of Cook's squad that have struggled for consistent game time this season though, which could hint that a summer departure on the cards.
We look at TWO Wigan players who might be better suited at a different club in the future.
Joe Garner
Garner has struggled for consistent game time this season with the Latics, which will be frustrating for the striker who has experience of playing in the Championship earlier in his career.
The 31-year-old has made 22 appearances this season, and it seems highly unlikely that he's going to be featuring on a regular basis anytime soon, as Kieffer Moore has solidified his spot in the starting XI in recent weeks.
Garner could be of use to a promotion-chasing League One side in the future, and it'll be interesting to see how long he remains a Wigan player, with his contract set to expire in the summer of 2020.
Gary Roberts
The experienced midfielder's days could be numbered with Wigan it seems. Roberts has made just four league appearances for the Latics this season, which hints that his future lies elsewhere.
At the age of 35, his experience could prove to be a useful asset to a club in the lower divisions of the Football League.
Roberts is another player that is out of contract at the end of the 2019/20 season, and given that he's rarely featured for Paul Cook's side this term, it would be a surprise if he was offered a new deal.
