After a bitter end to West Brom's season, the Baggies will be hoping to bounce back by getting promoted next season.

Losing out to your local rivals is never nice, let alone in the semi-final of the play-offs... and on penalties.

It's not all gloomy for West Brom, they still have a great squad, but face a tough competition to keep it together.

They can take solace in the fact they have a few up and coming players coming through - and next season might be the time to blood them in.

West Brom have a lot of key players on loan, and also face the loss of their star player Jay Rodriguez, who appears to have a £5million release clause in his contract due to them not going up, reports The Telegraph.

Then consider the losses of Dwight Gayle, Mason Holgate, Tosin Adarabioyo, Stefan Johansen, Jacob Murphy and Jefferson Murphy who all are returning to their respective parent clubs after loan deals and you are looking at a heavily depleted squad.

The Championship season is a long one, and with West Brom needing a big rebuild process, we take a look at two fringe players who might have a bigger part to play in this coming season.

Kyle Edwards

With Jay Rodriguez looking like he will leave, and Dwight Gayle going back to Newcastle, West Brom's strike force has gone from the best in the league to nothing.

This will open the door for a young Kyle Edwards, 21, who has been at West Brom since he was a youth boy.

He only played 235 minutes over 11 appearances last season, playing on both the left and right wing, but did manage to chip in with a goal, according to WhoScored.

Edwards, who has been capped by England U20s, will be hoping to get more game time next season.

Rekeem Harper

Centre-midfielder Rekeem Harper enjoyed his breakthrough season last year at just 19-years.

Harper played 16 times last season in the league, scoring one and assisting one.

Harper has been capped by England U19s, and the man born in Birmingham will be looking to get even more chances next season.

There is one problem though: Harper's contract runs out at the end of the season, and Scotland's finest are knocking at the door, says Birmingham Live, meaning his future is up in the air.

However, if Harper does stick with the Baggies, then you would assume he would pay a much bigger part next season.
