Brentford travel to Nottingham Forest this weekend in the Championship, and here we look at two ways in which they can hurt their opponents at the City Ground.

Thomas Frank’s Brentford are 15th in the table, after a disappointing start to their season took a slight up-turn with a 3-1 win at Barnsley last Saturday, and a 1-1 draw at home to Bristol City in midweek.

The trip to Forest tomorrow will be their toughest yet. Sabri Lamouchi’s side are 4th and deservedly so, with the Frenchman adapting quickly to Championship football.

They'll be looking to take advantage of a Brentford side that have lost three of their four away matches in the Championship.

But Brentford have enough quality to cause Forest trouble, and could well cause an upset in Nottingham tomorrow. Here are two ways they could do that...

Commit to attacks

Brentford have some real firepower in their team. Ollie Watkins has scored seven for the Bees this season including a hat-trick in the win at Oakwell, making him the league’s joint-highest scorer.

Brentford can give him some help further up the pitch, too. Josh Dasilva scored with a fine curling effort against Bristol this week, and the 20-year-old could well be given a consecutive starting spot with it.

Sergi Canos is another player with goals in him, but his season hasn’t really got going yet. With three assists to his name he still remains a creative outlet for Frank’s side, and he’ll need to get himself in the final third tomorrow to try and unsettle Forest.

Organise the defence

Pontus Jansson didn’t have as commanding a performance midweek as he usually does, but the summer signing from Leeds is making the difference at his new club.

Despite their lowly league position, Brentford are the joint-third lowest conceding team in the Championship with only eight from ten games. That defence will need to be at its most organised to keep out Forest’s Lewis Grabban tomorrow - the Englishman has six goals in the league this season.

Jansson was unaware of Andreas Weimann striding into the box before he headed home the equaliser last night, a lack of communication causing them to drop points. He’s a leader capable of running the back-line, and he alongside his usual centre-back partner Julian Jeanvier will need a plan of action going into tomorrow.
