Cardiff City face a difficult trip to face West Brom on the weekend as they look to extend their unbeaten run to eight matches in the Championship.

The Bluebirds enter the match following an impressive 3-0 victory over QPR in midweek with Sean Morrison, Marlon Pack and Callum Paterson all getting on the score sheet for Neil Warnock's side.

This was just the latest positive result in the Bluebirds' solid recent run, as they have evidently bounced back from their two early defeats against Wigan and Reading to become a highly competitive force in the second tier this term.

However, they are preparing for their trip to The Hawthorns with the encounter against Slaven Bilic's side likely to be Cardiff's toughest test of the season so far, particularly given the Bluebirds have been less impressive on the road than at home.

Albion were unbeaten in the league prior to this week but their 1-0 defeat away at Leeds ended this run as they also lost their place at the Championship summit, although Bilic's men will be eager to put things right on the weekend.

Warnock's side clearly have their work cut out ahead of the meeting, but here are two ways the Bluebirds can inflict damage on Albion...

They must focus on getting Glatzel into goalscoring positions

Cardiff's summer signing took a while to find his feet in the Championship but he has now scored two goals in his last three matches, with both of these coming away from home against Derby and Hull.

He is evidently starting to adapt to the physical demands of the Championship, while Warnock is also learning the best way of using the German frontman. It is important Cardiff focus their attacking build-up play around getting Glatzel into promising positions, as he will certainly score goals at this level with the right opportunities.

It is unlikely the Bluebirds will see too many opportunities to launch attacks at The Hawthorns, so there can be little margin for error when they are breaking forward. The service to Glatzel must be pinpoint as he could really prove to be the difference.

Warnock can use previous knowledge to help nullify Zohore's threat

Zohore left Cardiff to join West Brom over the summer and he has been in and out of the Baggies side since then with Charlie Austin and Hal Robson-Kanu also vying for a starting berth.

Warncok and Cardiff will know all about Zohore following his three-year stint at the Cardiff City Stadium and Warnock will surely have a strategy in place in the event that he features on Saturday. The forward was brought on ahead of Austin against Leeds which means Bilic clearly rates his summer signing highly.

He has not thrived for West Brom since his arrival, but it would still give the Bluebirds a boost if they can reduce the Albion striker's physical threat during the match. While there is always the risk that Zohore could come back to haunt his former side, Cardiff certainly may find a way of benefitting from their familiarity with the 25-year-old.
