Derby County will be desperate to return to winning ways this afternoon, as they prepare to take on Wycombe Wanderers at Pride Park.

It has been a dire start to the season for the Rams, who remain on the lookout for only their second league win of the campaign.

In midweek, they fell to their ninth league defeat of the season, producing a dismal performance in a 3-0 away defeat to Middlesbrough.

This weekend, they come up against fellow strugglers Wycombe at Pride Park - a win for the visitors could be detrimental for Derby.

Derby already sit six points adrift of safety in the Championship, so points need to be picked up, and fast.

Here, we take a look at two tweaks that could be made to the starting line-up later today, as Wayne Rooney prepares to take to the dugout.

Curtis Davies in

Derby conceded three very sloppy goals on Wednesday night, so first and foremost, their defensive frailties need to be addressed.

They need strong-minded characters running through the spine of their squad, and Davies is a centre-half who offers real leadership.

He may be 35-years-old, but Davies' performances have been impressive this season, especially in the 1-1 draw at Nottingham Forest.

They look a lot more solid in defence whenever he plays, and he should come back in today as Derby look to pick up a vital win.

Louie Sibley in

Derby lacked any real creativity on Wednesday night, and that also needs to be addressed if they are to pick up all three points today.

Sibley is a creative attacking midfielder who can create chances and score goals himself, and he should be given the nod this afternoon.

Kamil Jozwiak and Tom Lawrence weren't at their best in midweek, so when chances aren't being created from out wide, they need to come through the middle.
