2 transfer scenarios to look out for at Millwall in the next 48 hours

Published

on

It has been a solid transfer window for Millwall so far this summer and the Lions have got the majority of the business that they wanted to conduct done already.

Gary Rowett has been able to bring in five new faces to strengthen his squad with the likes of George Long, Scott Malone and George Saville arriving on permanent deals.

While both Dan Ballard and Benik Afobe have been signed on loan from Arsenal and Stoke City respectively.

Those players have all played a part for Millwall in League and cup since the start of the campaign and look like they will prove to be solid pick-ups come the end of the season.

However, Rowett has already indicated recently that he is still keen to try and get one or two more signings over the line before the transfer window comes to a close.

If the Lions are going to be able to invest in their squad with those vital extra signings within the next 48 hours or so, then it is vital that they raise funds by sanctioning moves for one or two fringe players.

So, with all that in mind, we take a look at TWO transfer scenarios to keep an eye on at Millwall as we head closer and closer towards the end of the window…

Jed Wallace to attract late transfer interest as contract situation drags on

A potential transfer scenario that we could still see at Millwall before the window closes that supporters will not want to see is Jed Wallace attracting late transfer attention ahead of the deadline.

Wallace’s situation at Millwall has been up in the air throughout the summer with the attacker heading towards the final stages of his existing deal with the Lions.

Millwall have made him an offer of a new contract but he has not yet put pen to paper on that new contract that has been offered to him by the club.

Gary Rowett has suggested that there could yet be clubs that look to take advantage of Wallace’s contract situation before the transfer window comes to an end.

However, he insisted that the Millwall remain determined to try and keep hold of him and not allow him to leave the club this summer.

12 of these 25 Millwall facts are fake – Can you identify them?

Dani Bodvarsson leaving the club

One potential transfer scenario in terms of an exit that we could see before the transfer window shuts at Millwall is forward Jon Dadi Bodvarsson.

That comes with the Iceland international having fallen well down the pecking order at the start of the campaign following the arrival of Afobe earlier in the summer.

It has already been reported by Football League World this summer that Millwall are open to the idea of Bodvarsson leaving the club before the end of the transfer window.

It would take the right club to come along with the right offer ahead of the deadline to make a sale for Bodvarsson happen in the next 48 hours.

However, the forward’s experience both in terms of English football and international football will surely mean that there will be at least a couple of clubs that take a look at him.

With Millwall’s potential signings in the remaining hours of the window dependent on player departures first, it is perhaps going to be vital that they find a buyer for Bodvarsson.
