The season is all but over for Leeds United, with new boss Paul Heckingbottom failing to build upon the unsatisfactory work of former manager Thomas Christiansen by guiding the Whites into the play-off spots.

Although many will be fighting for their futures under the former Barnsley man, it appears that the thoughts of much of the squad have turned to the beaches of Barbados with many happy to coast through the closing stages of the campaign.

Fans will accept this year for what it is and hope ‘Hecky’ can improve next time out, starting with a huge summer clear out of the abundance of deadwood littering his squad.

Christiansen signing Mateusz Klich was shipped out on loan to FC Utrecht in January and could be the first to leave, with the duo sure to be close behind…

There is surely no future for the young Frenchman at Elland Road, having started just once in the league all season and failed to impress from his numerous outings from the bench.

The 23-year-old has been at the club since the start of 2017 but has remained a bit-part player throughout his career in West Yorkshire and surely owes it to himself to find a club from which he can make a name for himself in the English game.

Sacko is a talented player blessed with pace and skill, but it is hard to see where he will fit into his new boss’ plans once the transfer window kicks in.

The winger could be one of the first men out the door.

Despite his goal from the bench in Leeds’ home defeat to Sheffield Wednesday last weekend, it is clear that the 20-year-old Dutchman is not yet ready to handle the demands of the Sky Bet Championship.

Having failed to make his mark following his summer switch from his homeland, Grot is in need of time to settle into the English game and perhaps a League One loan move would work wonders for his confidence.

Marcus Antonsson has enjoyed a fine spell with Blackburn Rovers whilst on a season-long loan deal from Leeds and Grot needs to push through a similar deal given his circumstances.

The big forward has got potential to succeed at this level but simply needs more time, something Hecky will certainly have noticed both on and off the field during his short time at the helm.

Leeds fans, should this pair be moved on?
