After Ian Holloway provided Queens Park Rangers with the stability needed to climb to safety, the Queens Park Rangers hierarchy will be looking to use the summer transfer window to avoid a similar precarious situation next season.

The summer transfer window will be a significant one for Ian Holloway as it will be his first full transfer window since his return, and he will be expected to stamp his authority on the squad and move away from Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's vision of Queens Park Rangers.

Already Ian Holloway has stated that his focus will mainly be on domestic targets rather than scour continental Europe in search of hidden gems.

With an expected heavy turnover of players, Queens Park Rangers will be busy over the summer as Holloway looks to both bring in new arrivals and allows fringe players to leave.

AXE: Ariel Borysiuk

After making the switch from Ekstraklasa side Legia Warsaw to Queens Park Rangers as one of Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's first signings, it was expected that the Polish international would have a large role to play at the heart of QPR's midfield.

However, since joining Queens Park Rangers in the summer, the 25-year-old midfielder has struggled, as he made just eleven appearances in the Championship.

Following just a limited role in the first half of the season, in the January transfer window, Ian Holloway allowed Ariel Borysiuk to leave the club on loan until the end of the season as he returned to Poland with Lechia Gdansk.

Having allowed Ariel Borysiuk to leave in January, it is expected that in the coming weeks, Ariel Borysiuk will be a player that Ian Holloway looks to axe.

AXE: Nasser El Khayati

As one of Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's first signings, Nasser El Khayati followed the Dutch coach to Loftus Road from soon-to-be Championship rival Burton Albion.

However, since making the switch to the Championship club, the Dutch winger has struggled to make an impression.

This season, El Khayati made just six appearances for the Championship side before he was loaned to Eredivisie side ADO Den Haag in the January transfer window.

Considering the willingness of Ian Holloway to allow El Khayati to leave temporarily, it appears that El Khayati will inevitably be a victim of the regime change in the summer.

With the 28-year-old Dutchman clearly not having a short term or long term future at the club, El Khayati will be a player that Ian Holloway looks to axe to make space in the squad for new arrivals.

SIGN: Anthony Pilkington

One player who will be on the radar of the vast majority of Championship clubs is Anthony Pilkington.

The former Huddersfield and Norwich City winger has impressed for Cardiff City over the past three seasons.

With vast experience in the Championship and an eye for goal, the 28-year-old winger would be a welcome addition to a Championship club.

As well as being free, Anthony Pilkington's versatility to play either out wide or as a centre-forward makes the 28-year-old an attractive option for whichever club picks him up.

With goalscoring being the major issue for Queens Park Rangers, Anthony Pilkington could be the answer if Ian Holloway can persuade him to join QPR in the coming weeks.

SIGN: Aaron Tshibola

After making a big money move from Reading to Aston Villa, there was much optimism and excitement about the 22-year-old Congolese midfielder.

Having forged a reputation as a tenacious and combative midfielder, he appeared to fit the perfect mould for Aston Villa's battle-hardening Championship campaign.

However, after making just ten appearances for Aston Villa in the first half of the season, Steve Bruce allowed Aaron Tshibola to leave the club on loan until the end of the season as he joined Championship rivals Nottingham Forest.

Having dropped down the pecking order, it appears that Tshibola will be allowed to leave Aston Villa in the summer.

Despite a relatively unsuccessful period at Aston Villa, he would be an excellent signing for Queens Park Rangers to make, if they can stave off interest from their Championship rivals.
