Following the departure of Paul Lambert, it is expected that the summer transfer window will once again be one of transition for Wolverhampton Wanderers.

After the last summer transfer window saw a change in ownership and a change in management, this summer, there has once again been a change in management with the arrival of former Porto manager Nuno Espirito Santo.

The highly rated Portuguese manager joins the Championship club which has undertaken a Portuguese revolution over the past twelve months.

The main protagonist in this change of approach in the transfer market has been agent Jorge Mendes who continues to hold great influence at Molineux.

In this vital transfer window, although Santo will have some compatriots at the club that he may be familiar with, the Portuguese head coach will need to stamp his authority on the squad with both new arrivals and inevitable departures.

FLW writer Elliott Wheat-Bowen looks at two Wolverhampton Wanderers players that should be axed and one player that should be signed in the coming weeks....

Axe: Jón Daði Böðvarsson

On the back of Iceland's success in the European Championships, Jón Daði Böðvarsson earned his move to England when he left 2. Bundesliga side Kaiserslautern to join Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Having spent nearly £3 million to acquire the services of the Icelandic centre forward, Böðvarsson had the difficult task of leading the line for Wolves.

A measly return of four goals and three assists showed how much the Icelandic striker has struggled since moving to England.

With Nuno Espirito Santo likely to address Wolves' misfiring front line in the coming weeks, Jón Daði Böðvarsson could be a player that is axed, making space for a striker that Santo has more faith and trust in.

AXE: Paul Gladon

Whilst some of Wolves' recruitment last summer has been nothing short of a complete success, there have been some signings who have failed to perform in the Championship.

One of the players that falls into the latter category is the Dutch striker Paul Gladon.

The 25-year-old striker moved from the Eredivisie side Heracles Almelo to Wolves in the summer.

Having made just two appearances in the Championship over the entirety of the season, it is clear that Paul Gladon has not adapted to English football and needs to be axed in the coming weeks.

SIGN: Moussa Marega

One of the surprise standout performers in Liga NOS last season was Moussa Marega, the Malian international who was on loan from FC Porto impressed at Vitória Guimarães.

With thirteen goals and seven assists in just twenty-five Liga NOS appearances, the 25-year-old winger has been attracting attention from across Europe with a number of sides looking to acquire Marega's services.

Moussa Marega's versatility to play not only out as a natural winger but also as an unorthodox centre forward makes the Malian international even more of an attractive acquisition for potential suitors.

Having worked previously with Nuno Espirito Santo at Porto, versatile forward Moussa Marega could be a player that Wolves look to sign in the coming weeks to address the goal drought which plagued the side last season.
