West Brom lead the way in the Championship after a fine start to life under Slaven Bilic ahead of a weekend game at Middlesbrough.

The Croatian was named as the permanent successor for Darren Moore in the summer and whilst he arrived with a good reputation following his work with West Ham, he did inherit a club with a few problems.

Losing the likes of Dwight Gayle, Jay Rodriguez and Craig Dawson could have been a major issue but the new signings have made a real impression in a short space of time.

So, fans are excited about what this season will bring and here we look at TWO things we've noticed following their positive start...

They are genuine title contenders

Even though we are just about a quarter of the way through the season, anyone who has seen West Brom play will have recognised that they are the real deal.

Albion have lost just one game, where they impressed against Leeds, which shows they have resilience and their quality in the final third means they will always have goals.

In truth, they look a pretty complete team for this level and they look the team to beat in the Championship.

The new recruits have been superb

Another major positive for the Baggies has been the ease in which the summer signings have settled.

Semi Ajayi, Romaine Sawyers, Matheus Pereira and Grady Diangana have already established themselves as vital members of this team and they are going to play a crucial role in the promotion push.

After a few years of mixed success in terms of recruitment, they have got most of it spot on which bodes well for January too.
