Ipswich Town remain bottom of the table after yet another defeat.

Queens Park Rangers came to Portman Road and left with all three points after a convincing 2-0 win over Paul Hurst’s men.

Their only win this season came at the Liberty Stadium when they scored a late winner to see off Graham Potter’s side.

It has been a desperate start to the campaign for the East Anglian outfit who prop up the rest of the division and with two tricky fixtures up next; it might not improve any time soon.

Town travel to Elland Road to take on Leeds United on Wednesday night before a trip to The Den to face fellow-strugglers Millwall in what is already looking like a six-pointer on Saturday afternoon.

Hurst’s future is in doubt after an awful start to life in the Championship for the former Shrewsbury boss.

With that said, here are two things Hurst must do to change Ipswich's fortunes.

Ipswich need results, and their 4-2-3-1 system is not working.

Paul Hurst should go back to basics and a solid 4-4-2 to be more compact and play to not lose first and foremost.

That will give Ipswich a base to build on and then once confidence is lifted, then be more expansive and look to kill off games.

Having drawn six already this season they are firming in games, but they need to regularly get results to build confidence, and that is something they are not doing at the moment.

In the 4-2-3-1 formation, Gwion Edwards is playing in an attacking role on the right of a three behind the striker.

He is Ipswich’s top scorer this season - play him up front.

If Paul Hurst switches to a 4-4-2 or to have two up top, he could line up alongside Kayden Jackson and form a solid partnership.

It would be useful and allow Edwards to be in and around the penalty box more where he is most at home.

That would be a step to helping Ipswich improve their fortunes.
