Sunderland have had a good season in League One, with the club going on a good run of form for the first time in a few years, but it is unsure what division they will be in next term.

A few problems have overshadowed the season, such a repeated number of draws causing Sunderland a real shot at automatic promotion.

Nevertheless, the Black Cats have had a few players that have stood out this season, meaning that if they do fail to go up, a number of Championship clubs could circle for their signature.

Here, we look at two of their players who are firmly in the shop window after their eye-catching displays throughout the course of this season.

Do you agree, or is there a player we have missed from our list? Let us know in the comments section below.

Luke O’Nien

Luke O’Nien has been one of the Black Cats most consistent performers this term, and is at the age where he may look to move up the divisions.

Despite often playing in defence, O’Nien has managed five goals and six assists this season, and has been one of the better players for Jack Ross’ side this season.

Lynden Gooch

Lynden Gooch has been another star performer for Jack Ross’ men this campaign, and he could well be on the shopping list of a couple of Championship clubs this summer.

He, like O’Nien, has been extremely consistent, and could be rewarded with a move up the divisions should Sunderland fail in the play-offs.
