Sheffield United head into the January transfer window in a rich vein of form and confident that they can sign any potential targets they may have on their wishlist.

Manager Chris Wilder is keen to dip into the market early, and he demonstrated this yesterday with the capture of MK Dons midfielder Samir Carruthers.

Still, it is hard to believe the Blades' work is done in the window, and many fans will be hoping for the additions of one or two more names before the month closes out.

One position the Blades could look to add to is in the striking department. United, for all their good form, are becoming increasingly reliant on Billy Sharp to bag the goals for them, with Leon Clarke and Matt Done not hitting the net regularly enough.

With that thought in mind, FLW writer Lee Connor looks at TWO strikers Sheffield United should look to sign in this January window...

Matty Taylor

Bristol Rovers striker Taylor has been a revelation this last few years, smashing the goals in for the blue and white half of Bristol with regularity.

However, his name is being touted about for a move this January, and a switch up North to Sheffield United could be too good for him to turn down.

Taylor has excellent movement and a burst of pace the Blades sometimes lack, and he could be the ideal man for Chris Wilder to turn his attentions to.

Liam Mandeville

Youngster Mandeville is lighting up League Two at the moment at nearby Doncaster Rovers, and he is bound to have caught the attention of Blades gaffer Wilder.

The striker has 10 goals to his name already this season, and at just 19 years of age is someone that the Blades might well be willing to take a punt on.

Competition for Mandeville will be strong though, and United will need to act early to secure any potential deal.

Blades fans, what do you think? Would you take these two? Let us know!
