Nottingham Forest have been very good this season and find themselves in 2nd place after 11 games, which they may not of expected before the season began.

While the Reds are in a prominent position, their attacking ranks is very depleted at the moment with Lewis Grabban and Rafa Mir being the only two out and out strikers left at the club.

With how well Nottingham Forest have been doing, you would of expected them to have had more forward players to help contribute towards the goals but it is Lewis Grabban who has contributed to nearly 1/3 of Nottingham Forest's goals so far this season.

Here we take a look at two strikers that Nottingham Forest could look at signing in the January window...

Ivan Toney

The former Newcastle academy product could be an option for Nottingham Forest in January.

The 23-year-old has smashed in 24 goals in 54 games so far during his time at Peterborough, including nine goals in 11 games this term as he looks to help fire Peterborough to promotion from League One.

Nottingham Forest could take a look at the pacey, powerful striker as an option to play with Grabban and if he could carry on his hot streak at Peterborough, he could be the final piece to Sabri Lamouchi's puzzle and give the Reds a better chance of fighting for promotion to the Premier League.

James Collins

James Collins has been a prolific striker for Luton over the past three seasons and is showing he is more than capable in the Championship with his five goals already this term.

Collins has fired in 49 goals in 97 appearances for the Hatters and could be a great option for Nottingham Forest. The Irishman will have just a year on his current deal at the end of this season and if Nottingham Forest were to swoop in before he potentially signs a new deal, he could be the man to help get them over the line.

Collins would be a different type of striker to Grabban as he is more physical and could be key to picking up points in the more gritty, hard-fought games to grind out points.
