After a very good start to the season, Lee Johnson’s Bristol City side lie fifth in the Sky Bet Championship table.

The Robins have been free-scoring so far this season, largely down to the form of on loan Chelsea star Tammy Abraham, who already has eight goals to his name this season.

For Bristol City to push all the way in the race for promotion though, they need another proven goal-scorer to step up to the plate as well as Abraham. As it stands, Aaron Wilbraham is City’s only other out-and-out striker.

Given Bristol City’s attacking threat with Abraham, Lee Tomlin, and Jamie Paterson, another striker certainly wouldn’t go amiss as Bristol City push for the Premier League.

Here, FootballLeagueWorld writer Chris Wilson identifies TWO forwards that Bristol City should look to sign in January...

Oumar Niasse

Sheffield Wednesday v AFC Bournemouth - Sky Bet Football League Championship

Oumar Niasse has been told, in no uncertain terms, that he won’t be part of Everton manager Ronald Koeman’s plan.

He hasn’t been given a shirt number and is even training with the Under-23’s.

The opportunity to get out and play regular football would appeal to both Everton and Niasse. The Senegalese international boasts an impressive record in Russian football, so he clearly knows where the net is.

Bristol City could look at Niasse as an alternative to Abraham or even play them together in the hope they can forge a prolific partnership.

Jerome Sinclair

Sinclair made the summer switch from Liverpool to Watford but has yet to feature for the Hornets this season.

Given Sinclair’s age, it is vital that he gets out to play regular football to enhance his development, and Bristol City would provide Sinclair with the perfect opportunity to do so.

The former England Under-17 international was highly thought of at Liverpool, and was billed to break into the first team but things never quite worked out for him.

Given the impact Bristol City have had on Abraham, Watford could be keen to let Sinclair go out on loan in the hope of something similar happening to him.
