Aston Villa have positioned themsevles right in the hunt for a top six spot, having creeped into sixth place ahead of the international break.

Manager Dean Smith has begun to get things right for the Villans and he has seen a good mix of attacking football and solid defensive displays rewarded.

However, he will also be well aware that one his key men, Tammy Abraham, is only at the club on a temporary basis, and come the summer there will be a big scramble to find a suitable replacement for the impressive Chelsea loanee.

Abraham has smashed in 18 Championship goals for the Villans this season, and he will prove to be a tough man to replace if they cannot sort out a permanent agreement or second loan spell.

With Premier League football still something that may well come Villa's way next season, it got us here at FLW thinking of potential replacements for Abraham.

Here then is a look at TWO potential Tammy Abraham replacements Villa could look to sign this summer...

Charlie Austin

The Southampton striker is expected to make a move away from St Mary's this summer, and he could be the ideal signing for Villa regardless of what league they are.

Capable at both Premier League and Championship level, Austin is a guarantee of goals really when he is given a good run in the first team.

Experienced, a good finisher, and still with plenty in the tank, Austin would be a shrewd signing by Smith and Villa.

Neal Maupay

Villa are always keen on making a big splash in the market, and what better way to make a statement than by signing Brentford's main man.

Maupay is well known to Dean Smith following their time together at the Bees, and has once again rattled in the goals at Griffin Park this term.

A move to a club the size of Villa would be a bold move for Maupay, but one he could well thrive on.
