2 Stoke City players who may be eyeing an exit from the club this month

on

With clubs in the Championship now free to sign players, it will be interesting to see whether Stoke City decide to engage in any business during the transfer window.

Currently eighth in the second-tier standings, the Potters could boost their chances of securing a play-off place later this year if they get their recruitment spot-on.

Stoke manager Michael O’Neill may also be willing to part ways with some of the players who have failed to make an impact at the bet365 Stadium this season.

Here, we have decided to take a look at TWO Stoke players who could be eyeing an exit from the club this month…

Jack Bonham

Signed by Stoke last year, Jack Bonham would have been hoping to challenge for a spot in the club’s starting eleven this season.

However, the goalkeeper has been forced to watch on from the sidelines due to the presence of Adam Davies and Josef Bursik who have both featured regularly in the second-tier for the Potters.

When you consider that Stoke opted to swoop for Frank Fielding last month after Bursik picked up an injury, Bonham’s chances of playing senior football for the club are looking slim.

Keeping this in mind, it could be argued that Bonham should be seeking a temporary exit from Stoke this month as he could benefit from featuring on a regular basis for a club in a lower division.

Demeaco Duhaney

Another player who may need to make a temporary exit from Stoke this month is Demeaco Duhaney.

The right-back has been used predominantly at Under-23 level by the Potters this season as he has made five appearances in the Premier League 2 Division 2.

Duhaney’s only Championship appearance came against Hull City in November and he is currently behind Tommy Smith in the pecking order.

If the defender is unable to make any inroads on the club’s starting eleven in the coming weeks, it could be argued that he should seal a move to another side who will be able to provide him with the opportunity to play regularly at senior level.
