Reading have had a really good start to life under new manager Mark Bowen, as the Royals extended their unbeaten match to four games with victory over Luton.

Bowen's side have now picked up ten points out to their last 12 available and are pushing up the league slowly but surely.

They're not unbeatable but they have certainly tweaked their style to make themselves become much harder to beat in the games that Bowen has been manager of.

Here are TWO stats that Reading will need to work on in the international break...

Away form

We're now right into the full speed of the new season, and there's a lot of expectation on clubs throughout the Championship and Reading are no different. The Royals have recently managed to pick up their form at the Madejski Stadium after winning their last three in front of their home crowd.

However, away from home, the Royals have won just once this season and picked up only six points on their travels. This has to improve if Reading want to challenge in the upper echelons of the division, something that they have the potential to do, especially after watching the start to life Bowen has made.

Possession when ahead

This is important, but obviously just one of those small tweaks that is needed in terms of keeping the ball when ahead in matches. The Royals really struggled with this recently, especially in the 2-1 victory over Millwall last week, and it's something that put them under immense pressure as the game wore on.

Obviously, the style now is more direct but that doesn't mean that when they're ahead they can't be smart with the ball. They can use the corners and players such as Ovie Ejaria to dribble the ball close and work it up the pitch without necessarily trying to have an attacking threat. It's something that can be improved, and can help the Royals see out victories in the future.
