The towering winger’s current deal is surprisingly set to run out this summer, despite only arriving at the City Ground back at the start of the current campaign.
At the age of 27, Ameobi is well into his prime years and will surely be seeking a quick resolution over his long-term future after such a positive start to his career with Forest.
With three goals and six assists to his name this term, the former Newcastle man is one of the club’s most creative outlets this term alongside Messrs Tiago Silva and Joe Lolley.
Surely Lamouchi will be keen to thrash out a new deal with the flying winger before the season is out as he looks to retain the core of his current squad.
Another experienced head that could well leave the City Ground for nothing this summer is 34-year-old midfielder Ben Watson, with the former Wigan Athletic man currently into the last few months of his current contract.
The veteran has been ever present for the Midlands based club this term, starting a total of 32 Championship games under Lamouchi so far.
Watson possesses a great degree of Football League experience, with the player having turned out for the likes of Watford, Wigan, Crystal Palace and QPR over the years.
Given his sparkling showings at the heart of midfield this term for Forest, it wouldn’t be at all surprising to see his manager hand him fresh terms this summer.
