Jack Clarke’s reputation at Leeds United continues to grow, with the young winger one of the most exciting players to emerge from the club’s academy in recent years.

Leeds have been cautious with Clarke so far this season, but in recent weeks he’s worked his way into the starting XI, putting in a Man of the Match display against Derby County last weekend.

With two goals and two assists to his name in the Championship, Premier League clubs are beginning to take notice of the 18-year-old.

According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds have knocked back an approach from Crystal Palace for Clarke, whilst the report credits Tottenham with an interest, too.

Whilst Leeds’ stance is clear, there’s still two weeks of the window remaining and interest in Clarke could intensify.

Should the worst happen and Clarke depart, here’s a look at TWO silver linings for supporters to consider…

A healthy transfer fee

This is the most obvious place to start. If Clarke leaves Elland Road, his signature will command a healthy fee that could be beneficial.

Of course, replacing such a talented player won’t be easy, but Leeds will feel confident of doing so if they had £10m+ in the bank.

It’s not a situation the club will want, but it is a silver lining all the same.

They’ve replaced this type of talent before

Leeds are used to losing the talented youngsters they’ve produced over the years and they’ve bounced back from such setbacks before.

Fabian Delph, Jonny Howson and Lewis Cook all spring to mind, with that trio all replaced by another exciting academy talent.

Thorp Arch continues to produce and if Clarke leaves, you can bet that another teenage sensation will be just around the corner.
