The last time Nottingham Forest faced Brentford was way back at the beginning of the season, when both harboured hopes of a top six finish.

Since then managers have changed, personnel have changed and hopes have withered away, in some cases died.

However, Forest fans might have been hoping one thing hasn't changed, the performance of their Greek midfielder Andreas Bouchalakis.

The impressive midfielder burst onto the scene in the reverse fixture and FLW shine a spotlight on the match that built up fans' hopes for a new star being born.

He made his Football league debut at Griffin Park and weighed in with a brace as Forest ran out 4-3 winners.

Mark Warburton returned to his former side and the future looked incredibly rosy.

15 points now separate the two sides who are almost certain to resume their tussle next season, but this evening perhaps the only thing at stake is pride.

Since that superb debut the Greek international hasn't achieved the promise he threatened, he's failed to score all season.

However, his two goals in the 41st and 47th minute gave Forest the upper hand and, as they came form his only two shots, it suggested he'd be a real handful throughout the season.

He was only on the pitch 78 minutes but he made an impressive 50 passes that day, 88% of which were successful.

It was a dominant and commanding outing which gave Forest fans hope of finally troubling the top six.

He even made four interceptions in the middle of the park.

The Greek last appeared on the bench for Forest in the 1-1 draw with Reading back in February and is unlikely to feature this evening as Forest hunt the points to make them mathematically safe from the drop.

Sadly, looking back only leaves fans asking what might have been had the former Olympiakos man sustained his super start to life in the East Midlands.
