Sheffield Wednesday are facing the bleak possibility of relegation back into the third tier of English football for the first time in nearly a decade.

Darren Moore took on the responsibility of keeping Wednesday in the Championship, but it hasn't been easy going for him since arriving at Hillsborough and Wednesday are starting to look like a side with too much to do.

Nevertheless, Moore can be reasonably pleased with how his spell has panned out so far, with there enough to suggest that his future with the club can be a success.

The task over the coming summer is going to be putting a squad in place that can be successful, which is easier said than done when you consider there's probably going to be a mass overhaul of players in South Yorkshire.

Players need to come in, but there's also going to be a real pool of high-profile departures.

With that in mind, we identify TWO players who will be wanting to move on...

Adam Reach

Reach has been with Sheffield Wednesday since 2016, having signed from Middlesbrough.

Ultimately, the left-sided ace hasn't been able to inspire Wednesday to promotion in that time, but he's made over 200 appearances and scored 24 goals, with some memorable strikes included in that.

Reach, though, is out of contract in the summer transfer window and Football League World understand that Wednesday are resigned to losing the 28-year-old.

There are a number of possibilities presenting themselves to Reach, with Watford and Cardiff City interested in a transfer.

Both moves are attractive, which might be the driving factor behind Reach not agreeing a new contract.

A similar situation to Reach is developing around Jordan Rhodes, who is out of contract and looking set to leave Hillsborough.

Football League World understand that there's not going to be a new contract agreed and Rhodes will be moving on in the summer transfer window, with Huddersfield a potential destination.

Rhodes, 31, has had a good season for Wednesday, scoring seven times and actually starting to show the type of form the club have craved since the striker arrived.

However, Rhodes looking to build on this flurry of goals looks like it will come elsewhere.
