Tony Pulis's appointment as Sheffield Wednesday manager means that it's all change at Hillsborough.

After a difficult couple of years the Owls faced an incredibly difficult start to the new campaign after being handed a points deduction ahead of this season.

Since then Wednesday have won three and drawn three games in the Championship but still find themselves in 23rd position.

That poor run of results saw Garry Monk sacked from his role as manager and replaced by the former Middlesbrough and Stoke City boss.

With Pulis now in charge it's time for a new era in South Yorkshire.

The Welsh manager will be looking to make an immediate impact on the pitch and as such he'll be carrying out a thorough evaluation on the personnel in his squad.

That means that some players could be deemed surplus to requirements.

Here are two players who could be eyeing a January departure from Hillsborough.

Barry Bannan

The midfielder faces an uncertain future under Tony Pulis.

Deemed surplus to requirements by Pulis while together at Crystal Palace, Bannan is out of contract at the end of the season and will be fighting for his future.

If he's not deemed to be part of the plans then he could be allowed to move on as early as January.

Jordan Rhodes

Another player who may be allowed to leave in January.

Jordan Rhodes has struggled to to show his true quality while at Hillsborough and it seems like a case of 'when' rather than 'if' he moves on.

It's doubtful that someone will be able to afford a permanent move in January, but a loan switch could be on the cards.
