Sheffield United will be looking to build upon their victory over Barnsley this weekend when they face Blackpool at Bramall Lane.

The Blades have managed to show some glimpses of promise in recent weeks after initially making a slow start to the 2021/22 campaign.

Currently 14th in the second-tier, United could potentially move above the likes of Reading and Blackburn Rovers in the standings if they seal all three points in their showdown with Blackpool.

With the transfer window set to open in January, it will be intriguing to see whether the Blades decide to engage in any business.

Here, we take a look at TWO United players who could potentially be subject to transfer interest in this aforementioned window...

Rhian Brewster

It is safe to say that Rhian Brewster has yet to deliver the goods on a consistent basis since securing a move to the Blades last year.

After failing to score in the Premier League last season, the forward would have been hoping to set the Championship alight with his attacking displays during the current campaign.

However, the forward has only managed to find the back of the net on one occasion for the Blades in all competitions and is currently averaging a relatively underwhelming WhoScored match rating of 6.38 in the second-tier.

A report from the Sunday Mirror (24/10, page 64), as cited by Nottingham Forest News, suggested that Steve Cooper's side were eyeing up a potential loan swoop for Brewster ahead of the January window.

Whilst Jokanovic has suggested that Brewster will not be leaving during the upcoming window, he may decide to change his mind if the forward is unable to force his way into the Blades' starting eleven in the coming months.

Oliver Burke

Oliver Burke has also failed to step up to the mark for United since joining the club in 2020 from West Bromwich Albion.

After providing two direct goal contributions in 25 Premier League appearances last season, Burke has seen his game-time limited during the current campaign as a result of injury.

Currently behind Billy Sharp, David McGoldrick, Brewster, Oliver McBurnie and Lys Mousset in the pecking order at Bramall Lane, the forward will need to impress Jokanovic in training if he is to force his way into the club's starting eleven.

When you consider that Burke does possess a great deal of talent, it wouldn't be at all surprising if another Championship side decide to make a move for him in January as he managed to provide seven direct goal contributions at this level during his career to date.

By sanctioning a temporary exit for Burke, the Blades could allow the forward to regain his confidence by sending him to a club who will be able to guarantee him first team-football.
