Sheffield United came so close and yet so far to a promotion back up to the Premier League last season and will be desperate to go one better next time out.

The Blades will be disappointed to have missed out in the Championship play-offs during the course of the last campaign. Now, Paul Heckingbottom will likely evaluate his squad and see where to chop and change this summer.

As well as incomings, there will likely be a few outgoings too. That could mean some player exits on a permanent basis but also on a short-term basis too.

Here then, are two Sheffield United players who could end up shipped out on a loan deal this summer.

Femi Seriki

The youngster has already been shipped out on loan on several occasions during his career and another short-term switch could be beneficial for the player next season.

He spent time with Boston United last season and made 13 appearances for the club. Prior to that, he also went and played for Koninklijke Beerschot VA, although he only managed a select few showings there too.

Now, with the player heading into his twenties, he could use some more regular action going forward to see whether it would be worth the Blades keeping him on for the future or whether they should cash in while they can.

A loan to another EFL side or at least a National League outfit would benefit him massively - especially if they can guarantee him some regular football, which he is unlikely to get at Bramall Lane right now.

William Osula

Osula has already managed five league appearances for Sheffield United so far in his career, although those showings only added up to around 74 minutes of action.

The player then is another youngster who could use some regular first-team action if it is on offer this summer and the Blades would certainly help his development if they could get him some more gametime elsewhere.

The 17-year-old certainly has potential and the Blades clearly believe so too having given him action in their squad already despite his young age.

Osula though could really come into his own if he gets thrown into a starting lineup somewhere - and that could be the next logical move for him this summer.
