Sheffield United suffered defeat last weekend to Nottingham Forest, which saw them lose ground at the top of the Championship.

Chris Wilder wasn’t impressed with his side’s performance and there is likely to be a natural reaction from the Blades in this Friday’s Steel City Derby at Bramall Lane.

Sheffield Wednesday visit with all kinds of problems, and Wilder will know that if his players perform to their best, they will come away with an important three points ahead of Saturday’s round of fixtures.

As we’ve come to recognise over the years, Wilder will not be afraid to make changes following such a disappointing result at the City Ground last weekend.

A change in system isn’t likely, but players returning will mean Wilder has some tough decisions to make in certain areas of the field.

Here at FLW, we look at TWO changes Wilder should be considering…

Cranie deputised for Basham, who was suspended last weekend.

Basham should return to the back-three against the Owls, linking back up with John Egan and Jack O’Connell.

It’s the Blades’ best defensive unit and should be the one Wilder turns to.

Clarke hasn’t found the form he showed last season, despite Wilder’s faith.

McGoldrick has offered something different to Sheffield United and should be coming back into the team.

The task Wilder will give him will be to get the best out of Billy Sharp, who is likely to be the attacking difference.
