Reading take on Millwall this weekend at The Madejski Stadium as both sides target getting their seasons properly up and running, with both hopeful of moving on up the table.

The Royals are currently sat 21st in the Championship table after managing to pull themselves out of the relegation zone lately, and new manager Bowen is unbeaten in his first two games against Preston and QPR following the sacking of Jose Gomes.

The 55-year-old will be deliberating over which players are in and which players are out following their most recent 2-2 draw with QPR, and here are two selection changes that he should be weighing up for the Royals this weekend...

Pele or Rinomhota?

In central midfield, John Swift and Ovie Ejaria both look as if they are certainties to start for the Royals, however, Bowen has to decide who becomes the midfield pivot in between them to help protect the three-man defence.

Pele was only a substitute last time against QPR however he caught the eye during his cameo on the pitch and Reading fans will be eager to see him start tomorrow night.

However, Andy Rinomhota performs his defensive duties well in the centre of midfield well and he keeps the tempo of the game up with his sharp, intricate passing from the middle of the park.

Bowen has to decide whether he goes with Pele or Rinomhota before the game, as both players bring different options to his side, however, both are capable of doing a job no matter how they are utilised within the middle of the midfield.

McCleary or Yiadom?

This second selection choice may come as a strange one, however, the experienced head of McCleary may know the perfect route of getting past Shane Ferguson and Murray Wallace down Millwall's left-hand side.

Yiadom has been a consistent performer for the Royals so far this season however he may find himself dropping to the bench for tomorrow's game if Bowen decides that McCleary would provide the better option from right wing-back with an experienced head.

For Reading, Yiadom will be the better option defensively however Millwall prefer to attack through Jed Wallace down the right-hand side, therefore leaving the Reading right-hand side the better option to attack down.

McCleary may naturally be a winger and have featured as a central midfielder at times this season, but his creativity from wide areas and reading of the game could be a better option for Mark Bowen to try out.
