The January window will be a crucial period for all clubs chasing promotion as they search for a few new signings that could make all the difference in the run-in.

One of those sides will be West Brom, with Darren Moore sure to want an extra body or two to beef up his squad for what will be a challenging few months.

Albion have had a good start to the season, however back-to-back home draws have seen them fall six points behind, Leeds who sit in second place.

Given the fact the Baggies are top scorers in the division, it's fair to say that Moore will be concentrating on bringing in defensive reinforcements.

And, he may be interested in Leicester right-back Danny Simpson, with the Mirror reporting that he will be made available for a transfer in the New Year.

Here we look at TWO reasons why he would be a perfect addition at the Hawthorns...

Firstly, it's quite simple - Albion need a right-back.

Tosin Adarabioyo has done a good job in that role since Moore has gone with a back four but it's not his natural position and going forward he doesn't really contribute.

Simpson is a natural in that position and has proven himself in the Premier League over the years, so would be a good signing in an area that needs strengthening.

As well as that, he is a real winner.

Obviously he was part of the famous title-winning side at Leicester and that experience, combined with his strong mentality could help the group at West Brom.

As the end of the season approaches you need big players and characters to help you over the line and the 31-year-old falls into that category.
