Leeds continued their good run of form heading into the festive period with a 2-1 win over QPR at the weekend which strengthened their grip on the automatic promotion places.

In an interview with Leeds Live, QPR boss, Steve McClaren felt that Marcelo Bielsa's side are going to pull away from their promotion chasing rivals heading into the New Year.

"Leeds are going to be up there without a shadow of doubt, but four or five over Christmas will pull away," McClaren stated.

"Championship’s a tough league and you need to win ugly, which I think they did today."

The former England boss praised the influence of Bielsa and feels that his experience will be a crucial factor in their promotion bid this season.

"If they don’t there’s going to be some very disappointed owners. Nobody more experienced than Bielsa to get them up."

Leeds will be looking to continue their impressive run of form when they face relegation threatened, Bolton Wanderers at the weekend.

But is McClaren right in his assessment of Leeds?

Many fans from fellow promotion chasing sides will be hoping that Leeds can suffer their annual dip in form.

But you will struggle to find any reason to suggest that Marcelo Bielsa will allow any sort of dip in results.

He has this Leeds side well-drilled and will be confident that he can guide his team back to the Premier League after a lengthy spell away from the top flight.

In previous years, Leeds have struggled for clinical players in front of goal, but that isn’t the case this season.

Kemar Roofe has been in the form of his career this season, and with the creativity provided by Pablo Hernandez and Jack Clarke out wide, the Whites are one of the most dangerous teams going forward and will be feared by opposition defences each week.

The attacking trio will play a crucial role in firing Leeds back into the top-flight.
