Sheffield Wednesday's miserable season continued yesterday as they were held by local rivals Rotherham at Hillsborough.

The Owls were held 2-2 by the Millers, and manager Jos Luhukay is continuing to see the pressure build on him as he struggles to get his side playing any sort of attractive football and results remain poor at the same time.

However, Luhukay's time at the club could soon be coming to an end according to Alan Nixon, who has reported that the club are looking at making a move for Steve Bruce as a potential Luhukay replacement.

The former Aston Villa manager has been out of work since the Villans let him go in favour of Dean Smith earlier in the year, and there is little doubt that Bruce may well jump at the chance to make a move back into football with the Owls.

However, we here at FLW think that there's reasons for the Owls to avoid Bruce, and we've taken a look at TWO of those reasons here...

His style is not that different to Luhukay's

One of the big complaints Villa fans had about Bruce was his defensive style of play and lack of attacking football.

This would likely not change if he came to Hillsborough, and the last thing the Owls fans will want to see is another defensive manager at the club.

He's a former Sheffield United man

It might be a bit of an obvious one, but Bruce has ties to the Owls fierce rivals Sheffield United, and this would be enough to put plenty of fans off his appointment.

The rivalry between the two is a bitter one to say the least, and there's potential that if things started to go wrong for Bruce, it would be a good reason for Owls fans to quickly turn on him.

While it's not the be all and end all and managers move round clubs all the time, it's definitely something to consider.
