Hillsborough is the venue this evening when Sheffield Wednesday take on Middlesbrough in the Championship.

Matchday 13 sees the resumption of second-tier football after a two-week break to accommodate the latest round of international fixtures.

With those out the way, domestic football takes centre stage once more.

Joe Luhukay’s men currently sit sixth in the division on 19 points having only lost once in their last six matches.

Middlesbrough, meanwhile, are two places and three points better off than their opponents and lost last time out, with manager Tony Pulis looking to get back to winning ways this evening.

Ahead to the fixture between the two sides, Sky Sports has enlisted the help of David Prutton to give his verdict on the outcome of this match.

The EFL presenter and pundit believes that the Owls will edge this evening’s clash 1-0.

It will no doubt be a competitive match, as are most in the second-tier.

But, with that said, here are two reasons why Prutton’s Sheffield Wednesday v Middlesbrough prediction is inaccurate.

Sheffield Wednesday have failed to keep a clean sheet this season.

Middlesbrough are above them in the division have conceded far less than their host’s.

David Prutton is predicting a shut-out for the Owls and feels Middlesbrough will not score.

With the firepower they have at their disposal, and having lost last time out, they will be itching to find the back of the net and write the wrongs of the Forest defeat.

And with Wednesday not keeping a clean sheet it seems odd to suggest they will against this Boro side.

Middlesbrough have only conceded six goals all season in the Championship.

Two were on the opening day, and two were in their last match - so in a run of ten games, they only let in further two.

Boro’s almost impenetrable defence means that getting past them will be no easy feat.

The 1-0 scoreline suggested by David Prutton looks to be wholly inaccurate.
