Zimbabwe international Macauley Bonne is making quite a name for himself in the National League, bagging 17 goals this season and attracting lots of interest.

The former Colchester man had to take a step back to move forward, after several seasons trying to break through in League One he dropped into the National League, spending time with Lincoln City and Woking.

However, since his move to Brisbane Road he's become a revelation, scoring 41 goals in 69 appearances as they look to regain their Football League place. He's integral to their progress, but is also primed for a January move.

That scoring record has alerted a host of clubs, with Sheffield United one side thought to be looking at the 23-year-old. Whereas not every move would make sense for Bonne, a move to Bramall Lane might just be perfect for him.

We look at two reasons why joining Chris Wilder's Blades' revolution would be the smart move for the Ipswich born centre forward.

He's like nothing they have at Bramall Lane. For a start, he's a forward under 30, but he's also quick, agile and always looking to get beyond the defenders or around a target man.

The option he'd offer would be useful for Wilder and might result in more first-team chances than anywhere else he chooses to go.

Wilder is great at developing talent, at bringing players through, perhaps those without big reputations, and making them part of a functional team.

Bonne is the sort of player who could disappear in the Championship, like Mo Eisa has at Bristol City. Wilder would be the sort of manager who wouldn't allow that to happen.
