Reading boss Paul Clement has come under an intense amount of scrutiny in recent weeks, and some may say that it is clear to see why, with the Royals sat 21st in the Championship table.

Reading have only won twice this season and have the second worst defensive record in the Championship-only Preston North End have a worse record.

With journalist Alan Nixon claiming that Clement could be dismissed from his role at Reading, there are already names being rumoured into the Madejski Stadium- with former Reading legend, Phil Parkinson among the favourites for the job.

Since Clement's appointment at Reading, it has divided opinion between the fans as to whether he is the man to take Reading forward.

But we're going to look at two reasons why the former Chelsea coach should be given more time to prove himself at the Berkshire-based club.

Find out those reasons here.....

There is a similar pattern emerging with this group of Reading players and it's no coincidence that both Clement and former Reading boss Jaap Stam have both struggled to get positive results with this team.

There have been some new signings made by Clement but the issue is that there have not been enough under-performing players heading for the exit door at the club.

Clement can only pick the team from the players he has available to him, and then he has to wait and see how the players react in a match, which they have rarely shown positive signs this season.

The silence from Reading's board and owners tells a thousand words.

The lack of communication between the club and the fans, hasn't gone down well in Berkshire. Reading were once known as a family club, but that title seems a distant memory nowadays.

Clement has yet to receive any public statement about his future from the owners and their silence makes it difficult for Clement to be judged on results, especially if the club is in such a state behind the scenes.
