On-loan Nottingham Forest striker Leo Bonatini has revealed that he would love to join the Reds on a permanent basis in the summer.

The Brazilian arrived from Premier League Wolves in January having struggled for minutes since Wanderers won promotion to the top-flight.

Even though he initially joined on loan, it was reported that Forest would have an option to make it a permanent one if they wanted.

And, Bonatini made his feelings pretty clear on the situation, telling Nottinghamshire Live that he is enjoying his time at the club and wants to stay beyond the next few months.

Clearly, Forest will have a decision to make in the summer and his form until then will play a big part but here we look at TWO reasons why the Reds shouldn't bring the 24-year-old in on a long-term deal...

He doesn't score enough goals

The stats for the former Al-Hilal man make for miserable reading.

Bonatini hasn't scored a league goal since early December in 2017 when he struck for Wolves against Birmingham.

In fairness, he found his game time limited in the second half of the season at Molineux following Benik Afobe's arrival and barely played in the Premier League, but it's still very worrying.

Martin O'Neill needs someone who can guarantee goals and the Brazilian isn't that man.

He's not an O'Neill type player

As well as that, he doesn't have the qualities that O'Neill wants from a striker.

The Irishman is pretty direct in his style of play and that just doesn't suit Bonatini.

He thrived initially at Wolves because he had a good touch and could link-up play but at Forest the manager wants a more physical or quick striker.

Again, that's not how Bonatini plays, which is why he already finds himself on the bench.
