Every season or so a player make a name for himself in the National League and winds up making a big move.

Sean Raggett joined Norwich City from Lincoln City last season, and he is just one in a long line of players who have comfortably moved up the divisions. This season, a Zimbabwe international is making big headlines in East London with Leyton Orient.

Bonne played for Colchester for a couple of years, making a decent impact but never truly breaking through. Loan spells at Woking and Lincoln saw him seemingly find a level and when Leyton Orient swooped for him following their relegation, few eyebrows were raised.

All that has change now, Bonne has 39 goals from 67 starts in the fifth tier, bagging 17 in 24 this season. Orient are hunting a spot back in the Football league and Bonne's goals are helping them on their way.

A record like that attracts scouts though and Nottingham Forest are one side who have been linked with a move. We think this could be shrewd business on their part, here's two reasons why.

There's the element of cost over potential earnings. If Bonne were to move for, say £250,000, that's small change to Forest. If he succeeds, brilliant, but if he doesn't there's still going to be a League One club willing to spend half that figure on him.

There's little risk involved, but the potential gain is worth it.

Bonne's record speaks for itself and whilst it might be in the National League, a glance at Jack Marriot shows you that a natural instinct will develop at any level.

There's surely enough in his record alone to suggest a swoop would be wise, even if he ended up back out on loan at another club later in the season.
