Former Leeds United boss Neil Warnock claims the Whites will miss out on a top two place as they battle it out with Norwich and Sheffield United for the automatic promotion places.

Defeat againt the Blades last time out saw Marcelo Bielsa's side fall to third in the league, although they remain just one point behind.

And, speaking to TalkSPORT, the Cardiff City manager explained why he thinks the Yorkshire side will have to settle for a play-off place.

"He’s done a good job, Bielsa, but I think Leeds will miss out. I just think Leeds have got a soft belly at times at the back when they’re under pressure, in comparison with the other two."

That was the second game Leeds lost at home to their rivals after Norwich beat them at Elland Road recently but is that really fair from Warnock?

Here we explain TWO reasons why his comments were wrong...

They were the better team against Sheffield United

You could perhaps understand these comments if they came after the Norwich game when Leeds were outplayed.

However, they were the better team against the Blades so this seems like a very lazy comment from Warnock.

Had Tyler Roberts shot gone a few inches a different way, they'd have taken the lead and probably won and there were other good chances too.

The Whites played a very good team so anything can happen but in terms of their performance it was fine and on most other days they certainly don't lose and Warnock wouldn't be saying anything then.

Bielsa has transformed this team

This seems to be similar to the criticism Tottenham take. They have a history of bottling things so it's something that sticks with them and is easy to say.

That's like Leeds now. They've messed up in the past and there's an expectation with some that they will do it again.

Realistically, Bielsa, like Mauricio Pochettino, has transformed his team and they should be judged on this season only.

They are still playing very good football and it's not long ago that they hammered West Brom in what was a must-win game too.
