Sheffield Wednesday have enjoyed a solid start to the season, with Jos Luhukay's men currenly occupying the final play-off spot ahead of the international break.

After a tough summer that saw the Owls placed under a transfer embargo for much of the window, the boss should be pleased with how his side are progressing.

Another pleasing aspect for the former Gladbach manager will be that the team are no longer totally reliant on one key man - Fernando Forestieri.

The Argentinian has established himself as one of the best players at Hillsborough since joining and his performances have been crucial to their success in the past.

Whilst he has still contributed with three goals this season, he is no longer the only man they rely on.

And, here we look at TWO reasons why the Yorkshire side should look to move him on in the January window...

As mentioned, the Owls are picking up results without Forestieri, evident with this stat from ESPN journalist Dale Johnson.

Even though he is certainly talented enough to get into the team, it may be a case that the collective improves when he isn't involved.

Given he has refused to play in the past, not starting Forestieri could bring potential problems so they may benefit from letting him go.

With Wednesday's financial issues, their best chance of backing Luhukay in January, and potentially a promotion push, may be through raising the funds themselves.

The former Watford man should collect a decent fee in the market today and that could be used to bring in a few players.

Again, they might not be better individuals, but they could do a job that Luhukay wants to ensure the team are successful.
