Situated in the bottom half of the League One table, MK Dons host the European Champions later tonight in a momentous occasion for Paul Tisdale’s side.

The meeting is the first ever between the two sides, but Tisdale has managed against the Reds before. Back in 2016, his Exeter City side forced an unlikely draw out of the current Premier League leaders before being beaten in the replay.

This all being said, what are two possible ways the League One side can trouble Jurgen Klopp’s team who have a 100% record in the Premier League.

We take a look...

Set pieces

It may sound like an obvious choice, but well-rehearsed set pieces can often prove to be the difference between two unevenly matched teams. MK Dons have already proved that they are strong in this department this season, with four goals from them already this season.

With two experienced defenders in Joe Walsh and Russell Martin, the Dons have a great chance of troubling Liverpool from corners and other set plays. Klopp may field a new-look back four which may not be as organised or as trusting in each other’s positions when it comes to defending them.

Stadium MK

Of course, Liverpool are used to playing in front of big crowds, but they will certainly have to be wary of the atmosphere that will surely be generated later tonight.

With a capacity of near 30,000 the Dons have one of the largest stadiums in the division and have the ability, therefore, to create one of the best atmospheres. They will need it too. It is expected that 29,000 fans will the venue tonight which will only give the home side a greater advantage.

Tisdale, himself, has already labelled the support as a key aspect of the match, saying that the game gives his players the opportunity to play in front of nearly 30,000 fans.
