Leeds United face a battle to keep hold of talented winger Jack Clarke, with Southampton the latest club to make an offer for the youngster.

Football Insider claim that the 18-year-old has been subject of a £5m bid from the Saints, and that comes just days after the Mirror reported that Crystal Palace had made an offer.

However, the Whites will be reluctant to lose the 18-year-old, who has established himself as an important member of Marcelo Bielsa's squad.

Clarke has started three successive games for Leeds now and has made 13 league appearances in total in what has been a breakthrough campaign for him.

He has impressed with his ability to beat a man and direct style that is tough for the opposition to handle.

Therefore, Leeds should not consider selling Clarke this month and here we outline TWO reasons why the offer from the Saints has to be rejected...

It's nowhere near his true value

Firstly, you have to say that £5m is a pretty insulting offer for a player with Clarke's potential in today's market.

Even in such a short space of time, he has shown signs that suggest he could go a long way in the game.

When you factor in Leeds' position in the table and the role he is playing, selling for £5m would be insane.

He is an important player

Following on from that, Leeds should not be selling anyone who they need for the remainder of the season.

They are finally looking like they can make a return to the Premier League, so to cash in on someone who will help you get there would not make sense.

Clarke is a player that Bielsa trusts and he will play a significant part in the next few months.
